Computer  is  a   phenomenon  of  techhology  which  arrved  in  the   scene   of  science   in   the   recent   times.They   innovative  product  is   now   being used  in     schools   throghout   the  world.This  is  because  it   posseses   the  potential   to  teact  and   develop   creativity    and   problem   solaving.

Most   of  these  schools  have  computer  literacy  classes,Many  schools   in  sri  lanka  especially   the  urban   ones  have  the   pride  of possessing  a   computer.In   this   repidly   developing  world   computer  literacg  is  a  must  to   every  perso.Thus   i  feel  that   it  s  the   duty  of   ministry  of  educational.services  to   provide  funds   to  every  school   to  be  armed  with  a   computer.

A  computer   can   be   used   to   develop   cretivity   in  children,  to   enhance  the   power   of   problem  solving  and  to  develop   the  writing  and reading  skills.Thery  are  many other  objectives  of   education   that  can  be  achieved  by  means  of  a  computer. But  each   school  should  have  a  well  planned  and  right  king  of   programme  to  suit  the   relevant  objeatives.This  should  be     done  by   competent  teachers  who  possess    a  thorugh  knowledge  of  the  elements  of    computer  science  and  it’s  application  to  needs.

I  see    butter   flies  fly   here   and     there  in   my   garden.Theyaborn  my  garden  and  I   admire   them.

If  i were  such  a  colorful   buttefly   garden   and  suck  nectar  from  flowers .I   might   also   collect  som  nectar   for  my  children   friends.They   will   be   very  glod   to   drink   nectar  of   flowers  for  they   have   never  drunk  it.

I  would  also  discloseto  the   children  the  secret   of   my   beatiful   colours.This  is  a   quetion  that    most   small  children  often  ask  from ther  mothers  perhaps  they   would   be   very  happy   to   know  the  real  answer  to   this.

My  favourite  author   is    martin wickramasingha. He  isone  of  the most  talented  writers  in sri   lanka. Every school  going  child   has   read     hisnovel”Madolduwa”. His style  of writing  is   very  simple.Any   person  can  enjoy  reading  his   books.

Some  of  his   books   are   prizewinners.His  books  are   very good.We   have   seen”Madolduwa”  and”Gamperaliya”   on   the   screen.  Some    of   his   others   books   are   “Viragaya”  “Yuganthaya”   and   “Kaliyugaya”.

He  is   a   writer   who   has  understood     the   human   nature   very  well.

The  sinharaja  forest  is   only  home sri  lanka.Rain   forest    tree is    very  beautiful.The   forest  home    many  rare  animals,birds,butteflies,insects,reptils  and  trees.vegetation  is     tree,shrubs,herbs,woody  chmbers.mammals is  wild   pig,sambur,mouse-deer,barking-deer,spotted  cat,fishing  cat,faced   mankeys,leopard.birds  is  blue   magpie,white- heded   starling,babbler.Repiles  is  lizavds, tortoises,viper,cobra.

     Rain  forasts  is  peaples  beneficial   shelter,fuel,spices, inoustrisl,raw  materials,medicine.The   peaple  threats to   the  forest  puting   plastig  and  politything  bag   in  forest.peaple  cut  down  tree   and  plants  for  in   busttvol  row  mateviols. peaple   cat   down   puwal.peaple  make  musical  in  struments  and  cbthes  using  skin  and  fur  of  animales. Stealing  rare  animales   plants  and  nerbs  frome  the  forests.

It  also   controls  floods, which  is a  conctant  threat  due  to   heavy  rainfall  in  the   area.

Me  favourite   school   leave  time   sinhala  and  hindu   new  year   most   improtont  national  festival.There  are   sveral  natinal  festival  in  sri  lanka  among  them  the   sinhala  and   hindu  new  year  is   regarded  as  the  most   importont  national  festival.

The new  year   festival  is  held in  the  month  of ” April”every  year.It  does  not  fall  on a fixed  day  every  year.The  date  is  fixed  by  the  astrologers.  In most  of   the   year   it   falls   on   13th   of    April,This   isa fesrival  of   cultural,  Social  and  national   importance.All   the  activities   connectwd with  this   festival  are  done   of  cardingonal  customs.There  is  an    almanac  in  evey  house.Allthe  auspicious    times  are   mentioned  in  it.firt  of  all  the   hearth    is  lit   at  the   auspicious  time  and  the    traditional   milk  rice  is  cooked.Then  they  partake  the  firs t  meal   of   milk   rice.After  par  takind  the  first meal  the y  engage  in  other   ctivities.They   wear  new  clothes  and  exchange  money  with   others. the   cidren  offer  shea fs  of betel  and      and   worship   their  elders.

Annointing  oil  too   is  done  at  an  auspicious   time .This  is   usually  done  at   the village  temple.  The  first  bath  and  se  tting  out  to  work  are  also  done  at   an  auspicious  time.New   year   competitons  are  held  on   village  level,There  are   lot   of   traditional  games.  Some  of  them  are  panchi   porapol  and  ang-kelli.  Olinda  and    raban  are  the  popular  games  among   women.The  other  games   that  can   be  seen  are  pillow  fight,  cadjan  weaving  and  coconut  scraping.

The  sweet   song   of”koha”  and  the  throb  of  the  rabana  are   heard  everywhere.People  in  all   walks  of  life  spend  the  new  year  joyfully.

I wannt  to  be   my   home. I   enjoy   Home   gardening. Ilove  rose  flowors. The   ostrich    is  the   largest brid  in  the   world.The ostrich   is   hearly  eight  feet  tall.It   weighs  more than   lso  kilograms. How ever  the  ostrich  daes not  like  to   fight.The  ostrich will  live on  the  ground  with   see  an  ostrich  lying   on  the   ground.  people  say   thod  an  ostrich  buries   it’s  ner  in  sand  to  hide  from  an  enemy  but   it  is    not   trne. The   Sri Lanka famer is a   simple villger.He may   not be   able to read   books.Wrrite   letters.   Yes be knows   his job well. He knows his   field. Very  often  we  hear  of   floods.Rivers and  canals  be  come   full  when it  rains   and    the  water  overflows   river  banks  cannot   contain   the    water   and  the  water    owerflows   as   floods.I  have  seen  a   flood.

       Floods  sometimes  cause  damage  to   houses   property  fields  and   gardens.some  times  a  flood  can   kill   people  and  animals.We  hear  of  floods  which   are   dastructive.We   have   minor   floods  in  our  gardens  and   houses.sometimes  it   is   difficult   to   get     drinking   water  when   there  is a   floods.We  cannot  go  to  work  when   roads  are  under  water. a  flood   is  an   intereting   ineident  for  the   small  children.
