Every child likes to play not only the able bodied but also disabled are fond of sports.sports play an important role in child’s life.It is said that ahealthy mind can be found only in a healthy body.Sports develop not only the child’s physical faculty but also his mental faculty.There are various kinds of sports in our country.Some of them are Cricke,elle,Volley boll, foot boll,net boll,Rugger,Tennis, badminton,Swimming,squash and Hockey.Among them,cricket is the most popular sport in sri lanka.In the past sports were not given a priority in our schools.Sports were directly introduced as extra curricular activities.But today the education authorities hove realised that spots is an intergal part of education.Sports also teach us good morol values.We can learn good qualities and good attitudes of persons.A good sportsman can take both victory and defeat alike.He is very patient.He accepts any decion without grumbling.He is well disciplined and well mannered.also he is ready to accept any challenge at any time sports teach us leardership qualities and the feeling of work as a teeam.
In a recent survey conducted by the world tourism organisation it has been revealed that promation of tourist destinations.several countries in europe are now using the field of sports for promoting bilateral tourism.

There are several religious festival in sri lanka.Among them “WESAK” is regarded as the most important religious festival. It is held in the mont of moy every year.It marks tgree important events in the life of”LORD BUDDHa”.They are are the birth,the enlightenment and the passing a way of lord buddha.
Most of people observe’’sill” on this day. They listen to sermons and other religioustalks.All these acts purify their thoughts. Houses are decorated with wesak lanterns and other decorations.They are also illuminated will coloured bulds.
wesak is a busy day for children. They make “wesak” lanterns in various shapes there are wesak lantern competitions too. prizes are also offered to best creatiow.
May the people of different races and religious forget their differences and livehappily in peace and harmony on this three-blessed”wesak day”.
